Dirtbag
Who is Mike Toohey? Mike Toohey is the unheard of Pro Rider, you might not know him, but amongst inner circles of Pro Riders he's recognized and spoken about in a way that goes beyond the standard of Pro Rider status. The guy is a legend! He is heavily invested in the industry, but more importantly the culture of snowboarding. Spending most of his career working in snowboard shops, tuning, or in some way speaking the language of snowboarding. Viewed as the big brother in snowboard shops, his peers always looking to him on his view points to new technologies or what a board can do if pushed to its limits, cause if anyone knows how to get it there, it's Toohey and he won't bullsh*t you on the design. He is the guy that pulls up to a competition with a Mohawk, tatted arms and a leather vest. He is the one building banked slaloms and shredding after the comp because that's what he loves to do. Mike is the pro you never heard of till now. After Toohey was introduced to the Garden Ragamuff 157cm, and riding at 5' 9" and a boot size 8.5, he found himself gravitating to the board daily, even though this board did not fit the industry standards for him. He respected the design, how it rode, and the brands focus on Snowboarding Culture.
When offered the opportunity to design a board, Toohey wanted to implement features from the Ragamuff, and from other legendary builds that are no longer in production. Fitting his style, he wanted a board that would give him his Park Rat fix on sunny days, make quick carves, and still float in powder when shredding the backcountry. What you get is the Dirtbag, a 160cm camber-dominant with early entry rocker points outside of the binding inserts, a narrow reference stance, a wide waist (265mm for his size 8.5 boots), a deep sidecut, and an extra-long shovel nose and tail.
This board was designed to cater to his personal style, providing a twin-tip, floaty, freestyle-focused snowboard built for his home terrain in Northwestern Washington and just like Toohey, this board will not Bullsh*t you, it's wild, different, and the board you never knew you needed. The Dirtbag is a statement in your lineup, and you will most likely find yourself gravitating to it.
